Bangor Operatic is one of Northern Ireland’s oldest Operatic Companies.  It is a small company with big ideas for the future and you could be part of it.

Fundraising   To put on a production takes a great deal of money, therefore during the year we run fundraising events.  These events include Table Quizzes, Concerts, BBQs, Come and Sing, etc.  Everyone is invited to attend these events and bring as many friends as possible.

Youth Show Choir   We have recently started a new Show Choir for those between the ages of 12 and 25  This has been named ‘Glee Sharp Major’.  They will perform songs from hit shows such as Sister Act, Wicked, Hairspray etc.  Information and Application Forms can be obtained from The Secretary, Janet Holland, via the website Contact Us page, or telephone 07796917366.

Annual Production   Our productions are usually scheduled in February of each year.  Auditions are held for main roles and new members who wish to be in the chorus.  We also have an excellent dance troupe.  Rehearsals for the production usually take place from the beginning of December.    No stage experience is necessary but commitment to attend as many rehearsals as possible is the main criteria. It is a lot of hard work but great fun and very rewarding.  There are lots of other ways in which you can take part if you don’t want to go on stage – be a member of the choir; help with programmes, teas, welcoming audiences etc.
